What customers say?

“ I want to start by saying the food here is EXCELLENT! This was our second time here and both times were absolutely delicious! Last time the service was very slow and we chalked it up to the restaurant having a small event there and being busy preparing for the event. This time was a Friday night with no event happening. We got there around 6:45 and the restaurant was empty. We were seated right away and brought menus. We waited about 30 minutes for the waiter to come back. We had our menus closed and he was literally standing there waiting, just not coming over to check in. After we ordered and the food came we waited and waited and waited a very long time for the check. By this point there were 3 other tables of guests. My husband eventually went to the counter and asked for a check. The prices on the menu did not match the check (some higher and some lower, but it worked out in our favor to be cheaper overall so we didn't say anything). Again the food is excellent, but I don't think we will dine in here again. Next time we will get take out and order ahead. The garlic rice is my absolute favorite and SO yummy and my husband absolutely loved his whole fish. The Shanghai lumping app was perfectly crispy and flavorful. The restaurant is clean and has a modern white decor. Just don't go here if you are in a hurry and need to be somewhere. ”

“ I love this place. For starters, the atmosphere is beautiful. Everything looks so clean and new. Plus, I love the decorations and matching colors on the inside. The food and service were incredible. My wife and I got Bulalo, Fresh Lumpia, and Goto(Rice Porridge). Everything was delicious and the portion sizes are huge. Everything tasted so fresh. ”

“ Great event space. You can host your birthday and events here. Food is amazing. I love the beef soup. Service is great. We were here on Sunday and empty. With a grocery in the back, you can walk away full and happy. ”

“ Dropped in to pick up some Filipino delicacies for a brunch meet up. Ordered to go deep fried boneless milkfish (daing na bangus), sauteied mixed vegetables in fermented shrimp flavor (pinakbet), crisp fried pork belly (lechon kawali), beef braised in soy, calamanai marinade in onion rings (bistek), pork stew in blood (dinuguan), and steamed white rice. Service was quick and food freshly prepared. All dishes savory and capture taste from Philippines but portions smaller than expected for the price. Staff superfriendly and welcoming. There's a grocery section of canned and frozen food as well as snack items towards back of the resto. ”

“ I genuinely want to see Filipino restaurants thrive and succeed—and Kabayan Grill is a promising example. I ended up here by chance, after the restaurant next door didn’t have the dishes I was craving. Thankfully, Kabayan Grill did—and I gave it a shot and glad I did. Here’s what stood out: - Generous portions - No credit card fees (a rare plus!) - Excellent and efficient customer service - Wait time was still long, but much more manageable than next door - The space itself looks great and seems to be undergoing a stylish upgrade As for the food—while the taste from next door might have a slight edge, Kabayan Grill isn’t far behind at all. The overall experience makes me want to come back, and I hope the quality stays consistent or even improves. If they fine-tune the flavors just a bit more, this place will absolutely gain a loyal following—I’ll be one of them. Honestly, both Kabayan Grill and its neighbor outperform a lot of the Filipino spots I’ve tried in Queens, which, sadly, have gone downhill lately. So give this place a try—you won’t be disappointed! ”

“ Foodie Paradise at Kabayan! ???????? If you're craving authentic Filipino food with a side of warm hospitality, Kabayan should be your top pick! Variety Galore: This place is a haven for indecisive foodies like me. The menu bursts with delicious options, from classic like Bulalo (tender beef shank in bone marrow broth) and Pancit Bihon (stir-fried glass noodles) to sizzling specialties like Sisig and Bangus Sisig (crisp pork or milkfish belly with onions and chilies). We also shared hearty plates of Chopsuey and Kalderetang Kambing (goat stew in tomato sauce), and none of them disappointed! Tastebuds Singing: Every dish was bursting with flavour. The Bulalo broth was rich and comforting, the Chicken Skewers BBQ were perfectly grilled with a sweet-savory glaze, and the Chopsuey was a vibrant medley of fresh vegetables and meat. I particularly loved the Sizzling Bangus Sisig – the smoky, crispy fish belly with onions and chillies was an absolute delight! Friendly Faces: The service was just as fantastic as the food. Our server, Ate, was incredibly friendly and helpful. She spoke Hiligaynon, which felt like a warm welcome from home. She patiently explained the menu and made sure we had a wonderful dining experience. Spacious & Practical: The restaurant itself is quite spacious, perfect for gatherings with friends and family. They even have a mini Filipino grocery store attached, so you can stock up on your favourite ingredients after your meal. Price Perfection: To top it all off, the prices at Kabayan are incredibly reasonable. You get generous portions of delicious food without breaking the bank. Final Verdict: If you're looking for a taste of the Philippines with excellent service and a welcoming atmosphere, Kabayan is a must-try! I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to experience authentic Filipino cuisine at its finest. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ P.S. Don't forget to try the garlic rice – it's the perfect accompaniment to any dish! P.P.S. Mabuhay, Kabayan! Salamat sa masarap na pagkain at mahusay na serbisyo! ”

“ SO EXCITED to have a new & authentic Filipino restaurant in the area! I ordered lumpia, garlic rice, bistek, chicken BBQ sticks & sago for dessert. True Kapampangan style menu with staple items and entrées. I look forward to bringing my family here in the future. The space was very clean and well decorated, I would definitely consider this for a venue ! 10/10 experience. On my way out I was able to go through their mini market area and found some childhood favorites. This place made me feel like I was back home. ”

“ I happened to stumble into this area after work and I was surprised to see a Filipino restaurant so deep in Long Island, I love Filipino food so much that I wanted to check it out. It is so close to the Ronkonkoma train station so the commute was easy. When we walked in we were surprised to see how beautiful the interior of the restaurant was. The chairs and tables were white, and it looked super fancy. When we got the menus we were surprised to see that our favorite Filipino food was super affordable, we got the Chicharon Bulkalak (deep fried pig intestine), the Lechon Kawali (fried pork belly), Sisig Pork with Egg, and a large order of Garlic Fried Rice. Each item we got was super tasty and delicious and extremely affordable (everything came out to just $53 for 2 people and a LOT of leftover food to take home). The waiter was also attentive and gave us a lot of iced water whenever we ran low. I loved how crispy the Chicharon and Lechon were, and the flavors of the Sisig were also unbeatable. I really enjoyed the mixture of pork flavor in that dish and the onions and bell peppers to really compliment each flavor. The waiter was also nice enough to give me the wifi password when we asked for it. The garlic rice was also really good- soo i highly recommend the garlic rice!! Will definitely be back to try the sinigang ”
